How to Resize Images in Knowledge Articles

In Salesforce Classic, users editing a Knowledge Article's Rich Text Area (RTA) field in Google Chrome cannot directly resize an image using drag handles — this is a known limitation of the Classic interface. In Lightning Experience, image resizing in Rich Text fields is supported natively in Google Chrome as of the Spring '20 release. This article explains the workarounds for both environments.

As a workaround, edit Rich Text Area fields and resize an image for Knowledge Articles in Salesforce Classic using an alternative supported browser such as Firefox.


In Lightning Knowledge, it's now possible to Resize Images in Rich Text Fields in Google Chrome however, this feature enhancement only applies to editing Knowledge Articles in Lightning Experience and not Salesforce Classic.

To manually resize an image in the Rich Text Editor Source view, click the Source button in the editor toolbar and update the image tag's style attribute to set your desired width and height values in pixels. For example, set width to 578 pixels and height to 795 pixels.
