Filter a Report Based on a Data Category in Salesforce Classic

To filter by Data Category:

1. Click Reports and select a report on Knowledge (for example, Knowledge Articles)
2. Next to Filter, click the Add drop down.
3. Select the Data Category Cross Filter.

Notes:

• Data Category is a Hierarchy structure, so the operators At equates to the regular Equals operation found commonly in other filters.
• The filters for Above, Below, and Above or Below include the Data Category itself. For example, if you create a filter for "Product above 'X'", the report returns articles for Data Category X as well as any categories above it in the Data Category Hierarchy.
• Filtering on Data Categories is only available in Classic reporting. To report on Data Categories in Lightning, a Knowledge_DataCategorySelection relationship is available for some objects while creating custom report types on Knowledge.
