Overview

Salesforce administrators can force sign-out users from the Salesforce Outlook Integration (the feature that allows users to access Salesforce records directly from Microsoft Outlook) using the Outlook Integration and Sync setup page.
This action is useful in the following scenarios:

  • A user leaves the organization and their Outlook access to Salesforce needs to be revoked immediately
  • A security review requires removing a user's authenticated connection to Salesforce from Outlook
  • A user is changing roles and needs to re-authenticate with a different Salesforce profile
  • Troubleshooting authentication issues by resetting a user's Outlook Integration connection

Steps to Force Sign-Out a User from Outlook Integration

Follow the navigation path for your Salesforce experience type:

Steps in Salesforce Classic

If the Improved Setup User Interface is Enabled:
Setup > Administer > Outlook Integration and Sync > Settings > Let users access Salesforce records from Outlook > User Mapping
If the Improved Setup User Interface is Disabled:
Your Name > Setup > Administration Setup > Outlook Integration and Sync > Settings > Let users access Salesforce records from Outlook > User Mapping

Steps in Salesforce Lightning Experience

Option A:
Click Gear Icon > Setup > Email > Outlook Integration and Sync > Let users access Salesforce records from Outlook > User Mapping
Option B (using Quick Find):
Click Gear Icon > Setup > In the Quick Find box, enter Outlook Integration > Click Outlook Integration and Sync > Let users access Salesforce records from Outlook > User Mapping

Remove a User from the User Mapping List

  1. In the User Mapping related list, review all users who have authenticated with the Outlook Integration. Locate the user you want to sign out.
  2. Click the Delete option under the Action column for that user.

The user is now signed out. They will need to re-authenticate the next time they open Outlook Integration.
