Licenses determine how many users can access your Salesforce Organization based on your contract. Managing the right number of licenses ensures all necessary users have access to the features and tools they need.

Submit a license increase request through Your Account app or contact your Account Executive
Review the Salesforce documentation on license types before submitting a request.
Organizations may need to increase their license count when onboarding new employees, expanding to new teams or departments, or enabling additional users for seasonal projects. The process for requesting additional licenses differs between Salesforce Organizations and Partner Organizations.
First, review more about the different types of licenses. If you've reviewed all relevant documentation and would like to purchase additional licenses, access the Your Account app to purchase. You can also contact your Account Executive for help with purchasing. Support will not be able to assist you with this increase.
If you are part of a Partner Organization, a System Administrator must log a Case with Salesforce Partner Support to request additional licenses. Please include all important details such as the Organization ID and a business case for the request. Partner Support will review the Case and action it as needed.
If you're looking to add more licenses to your Sandbox without refreshing, please review Match production and sandbox licenses without a sandbox refresh.
This also applies to the 'Chatter External License' type.
