Error 'SMS Junction' when trying to edit a Profile

When attempting to edit a profile in your Salesforce instance, you may encounter an error message such as:

You may see the error message: 'Create SMS Junctions depends on permission(s): Read Campaigns'

This issue occurs because the user's license or the profile itself does not have Read access to the Campaign object in Salesforce. This permission is required to manage the "SMS Junction" settings, which are related to marketing and SMS messaging features.

Solución

Option 1: Grant Access to Campaigns

If the user or profile needs the ability to manage these permissions, you must first grant access to the Campaign object.

  1. In Setup, navigate to the Profile you are trying to edit.
  2. In the Profile settings, locate the Object Settings section.
  3. Find the Campaign object and grant Read access.
  4. Save the changes.

Option 2: Remove SMS Junction Permissions

If the user or profile does not need the ability to manage SMS permissions, you can remove the related permissions.

  1. In Setup, navigate to the Profile you are trying to edit.
  2. Locate the permissions titled:
    • Create SMS Junctions
    • Delete SMS Junctions
    • Edit SMS Junctions
    • Read SMS Junctions
    • Any additional permissions related to "Send Junctions"
  1. Remove these permissions from the profile.
  2. Save the changes.
