Understanding Created Date and Last Modified Date in Salesforce Knowledge Articles

公開日: Apr 15, 2025
説明

The Created Date and Last Modified dates of knowledge articles behave differently from what you may expect.

解決策

The sources of date information in Knowledge Article fields have been updated to more accurately reflect recent activity on the article. These field values can be visible in reports, on article pages, and in SOQL queries.

Additional detail:

  • Created Date is now equal to the CreatedDate of the current Knowledge Article Version record, instead of the Knowledge Article's original CreatedDate. (Please note: the 'Created By ' will still show the Knowledge Article's original author)

  • Last Modified Date of a draft article is now equal to the time when the draft article was saved.

  • Last Modified Date of a published article is now equal to the time when the article was most recently published.

  • In order to accurately get an export of the "Created By" and "Last Modified By", you may need to query them using API tools such as Data Loader or Workbench instead of running reports through the UI. This is because these values may not be accurate when they are exported by using reports.

To report on Knowledge using the Created Date of the original article, a Custom Report Type can be created that joins the Knowledge Article and Knowledge Article Version objects for a given Article Type. When creating the Custom Report Type, choose the name of the Article Type as the Primary object and the Article Type Version as the secondary object. See Set Up a Custom Report Type for additional information about creating Custom Report Types.
