Receiving User Merge Field Blank in Salesforce Experience Cloud Password Reset Emails

If you are using {!Receiving_User.<user fields>} merge field on an Experience Cloud Site password reset email template, the resulting email has a null value for that merge field.

To copy a merge field value:

  • Classic: Setup
  • Lightning: Click Gear Icon | Setup /

a. Enter in Quick find search box: "Classic Email templates"
b. Click New | Choose any format of Template (i.e. Text or HTML) | In Select field type choose Receiving User fields | In Select field choose Contact | Copy Merge Field Value

Lösning

Receiving_User merge field is pulling fields from the Contact object
 

1. Currently, this behavior is by design.
2. For Experience Cloud Site password reset email, we support {!Receiving_User.<contact fields>} and NOT {!Receiving_User.<user fields>} on email template
3. There is an exception to this with Username merge field or !Receiving_User.Username that is supported.
 
  • <contact fields> = Contact object fields
  • <user fields> = User object fields
