Assign Content Record Types to Salesforce Enhanced Profile User Interface

Veröffentlichungsdatum: May 28, 2026
Beschreibung

Salesforce Administrators may find that it is not possible to set the Content record type preferences for profiles when you Assign Record Types and Page Layouts in the Enhanced Profile User Interface because the Content Version object is not available when you perform a Search in the Enhanced Profile User Interface.

Note: It is not possible to assign Content Version record types to permission sets and is only possible through Profiles.

Lösung

Set Content Record Types for Profiles

Option 1: Temporarily disable the "Enable Enhanced Profile User Interface" setting as outlined in the Enable the Enhanced Profile User Interface documentation:

Follow the steps outlined in the Assign Record Types to Profiles in the Original Profile User Interface. For step 3, click the Edit next to Content Versions under Record Type Settings.

Option 2:  Manually construct the URL to the desired setup section:

/setup/ui/profilerecordtypeedit.jsp?id=[ProfileId]&tid=ContentVersion

Substitute [ProfileId] with the Id of the desired profile which can be found in the browser's URL by navigating to the desired profile's page (Setup | Manage Users | Profiles). For example, a profile page's URL for an organization residing on the NA1 instance would be:

https://na1.salesforce.com/00ea0000002254A with 00ea0000002254A being the profile's Id

Paste the URL with the appropriate profile Id substituted in after the .com in your browser's URL bar from any Salesforce page. Based on the profile Id and organizations's instance in the example above, the full URL would be:

https://na1.salesforce.com/setup/ui/profilerecordtypeedit.jsp?id=00ea0000002254A&tid=ContentVersion
