When using Data Import Wizard to import user may find that not all records contained in the import file were created in Salesforce despite receiving an email that the import completed.
Note: This behavior applies to both the Data Import Wizard and Data Loader when operating in Bulk API mode (Settings > Settings > 'Use Bulk API').
Review how many records were imported via Bulk Data Load Job Details. The click-path is as follows:
Now you will need to locate your import Job ID best way is by the Start Time.
Locate 'Records Processed' and subtract 'Records Failed' to determine how many records were successfully created.
Records Failed are typically caused by missing required field data or CSV mapping issues.
It is always best to review your CSV file and look at the fields you have available and required for the object you are importing to. That way you will know if there are any custom fields you need to create in your object or add additional information to your CSV file for your required fields. This is so your records will create and you won't run into any error messages.
In Lightning you can also go to the object's tab and click the small dropdown triangle to change the list view from specific object's "Recently Viewed" to "All [object]" (i.e. "All Contacts" if on the "Contacts" tab.) The recently viewed list view only shows the records that you have accessed where as specific object's ALL list view shows all the records which can then be sorted by the date.
If you continue to have issues you may consult Salesforce Support.
