Description


The managed packages related list on the User detail page lists all managed packages that a user is assigned. 

When a sandbox is created from a production organization, the licenses associated with the active managed packages are treated as site licenses. This means that all users in the sandbox are automatically assigned all managed package licenses. App publishers can control this and enforce license management in sandbox orgs using their License Management Organization. 

This behavior differs between production and sandbox environments due to how Salesforce handles managed package license assignment in sandboxes.

Managed Package List in Production

In a production org, the Managed Packages related list on a User record shows all packages explicitly assigned to that user. 

 

Managed Package List in a Sandbox

In a sandbox, all users are automatically assigned all managed package licenses as site licenses. As a result: The Managed Packages related list won't display if the app publisher left sandboxes at the default 'site licenses' setting; the list will display if the app publisher changed the package to enforce licenses in sandbox

Important Note 

The Managed Packages related list cannot be hidden in a production environment through standard Salesforce configuration.
