Salesforce Live Chat enforces a maximum character limit on messages sent by chat visitors. If a visitor's message exceeds this limit, the message is automatically truncated. This article explains the limit and provides workaround options for longer content.
The maximum size of a message sent by a chat visitor when using Chat is 6000 characters. The message will be truncated once it has reached the limit.
Note: There is no limit for character size when sending messages from Agent to Visitor. The 6000 character limit only applies when sending messages as a Visitor to an Agent.
