Q. I no longer see the Territories standard field on an Account record?

A. The Territories standard field has been replaced by the "Assigned Territories" related list.
Follow the below steps to add this related list to your page layout:

In Classic:
  • Setup | Customize | Account | Page Layouts | Edit on the page layout
  • Select "Related Lists" in the page layout editor tool
  • Drag and drop the "Assigned Territories" to the related list section at the bottom of the page
  • Click Save.
In Lightning:
  • Gear Icon | Object Manager| Account | Page Layouts | Edit on the page layout |
  • Select "Related Lists" in the page layout editor tool
  • Drag and drop the "Assigned Territories" to the related list section at the bottom of the page
  • Click Save.

When back on the Account record, scroll down to this new related list and all assigned Territories to this Account should now display.

Q. What is a Territory Type?

A. Territory types help you organize your territories by key characteristics important to your company. Every territory you create must have a territory type. Territory types are used for organizing and creating territories only: they do not appear on territory model hierarchies.

Q. What is Territory Type Priority?

A. Specifying and managing territory type priority information helps you choose the appropriate territory type for territories you create or edit. There are no predefined priority options, so your organization should create its own priority scheme. For example, 001 may indicate that a territory type is the highest priority or the lowest. Make sure your scheme can scale as you add more territory types.

Q. What is a Territory Model and how many can I have?

A. A territory model represents a complete territory management system for your organization. Modeling lets you create and preview multiple territory structures and different account and user assignments before you activate the model that works best.

Enterprise Edition is allowed 2 Territory Models.
Unlimited and Performance Edition is allowed 4 Territory Models. ONLY 1 model can be active at a time.

Q. What is a Territory Model State?

A. Territory model state indicates whether a territory is in the planning stage, in active use, or archived. Your organization can have only one active territory model at a time, but you can create and maintain multiple models in planning or archived state to use for additional modeling or reference.

Q. What user permissions are needed in order to utilize Enterprise Territory Management?

A. How Permissions affect Feature and Data Access in Enterprise Territory Management

Q. IN TM 1.0, when clicking the "View Accounts" button on a Territory, I was able to view a lot more field columns than I am now in TM 2.0?

A. The ability to add more field columns is currently being looked at for a future release.

Q. How do I create Territory Roles?

A. Setup | Customize | User Territory Associations | Fields
Click Role in Territory.
Click "New", add roles, then Save.

Q. How do I assign Territory Roles?

A. When viewing a Territory, scroll down to the "Assigned Users" related list and click "Edit" next to a user, click the
Role in Territory Picklist, select a role, and click Save.

Additional considerations:

1. The "Account Assignment Rules Defined in This Territory" related list is now called "Assignment Rules Assigned to This Territory". You will also notice that you no longer need to click "Manage Rules" in order to add a new Territory assignment rule. There is now a "New" button.
2. Triggers are now available on Territories and User Territory Associations!
Territory Triggers: Click Setup | Customize | Territories | Triggers
User Territory Triggers: Click Setup | Customize | User Territory Associations | Triggers
3. You can now run assignment rules on the Territory Hierarchy page under Setup. Hover over the Territory and click "Run Rules"

Note: Standard "Territories" Report Type(available in TM1.0) is not available in TM2.0. You can Create Custom Report type to achieve this.
