When the Event Monitoring add-on is purchased for a Salesforce production org, customers often want to enable the same feature in their sandbox environments for testing and development purposes. This article explains how to activate Event Monitoring in sandbox orgs after it has been provisioned in production.
Event Monitoring must first be provisioned in the production org before it can be enabled in any sandbox. Once provisioned in production, use one of the following approaches to activate it in your sandbox.
Verify that Event Monitoring has been enabled in your production org by navigating to Setup > Event Monitoring and confirming the feature is active.
If the Match Production Licenses tool is available in your sandbox, use it to activate Event Monitoring without requiring a sandbox refresh:
This tool is the fastest way to enable Event Monitoring in a sandbox and does not require a full sandbox refresh.
If the Match Production Licenses tool is not available in the sandbox, a sandbox refresh is required to activate Event Monitoring after it has been provisioned in production.
Once the refresh is complete, Event Monitoring will be active in the refreshed sandbox.
