Overview
The Member Status Update Date field is associated with the Campaign Member record and is expected to track changes related to member status.
What Users Experience
Users may notice that updating any field on a Campaign Member record, not just the Status field, causes the Member Status Update Date to change.
For example, a marketing user updating a custom field (such as Lead Source Detail or Region) on a campaign member may see that the Member Status Update Date is also updated, even though the status itself remains unchanged.
Why the Field Updates on Any Change
Historically, the Campaign Member record only allowed updates to the Status field. Because of this limitation, the Member Status Update Date effectively reflected status changes.
As Salesforce evolves, Campaign Member records now support additional standard and custom fields. Any update to the record is treated as a modification event.
What the Field Represents Now
As a result, the Member Status Update Date now behaves similarly to a Last Modified Date field. It updates whenever any change is made to the Campaign Member record, not just when the status changes.
