'Salesforce For Outlook' side panel fails to load with 'Outlook Integration' panel

If a user is using both Outlook Integration and Salesforce for Outlook (SFO) the default behavior is for the SFO side panel to disconnect and not display. One main indicator would be the existence of the Add Email button on your Outlook toolbar. If you have the side panel option enabled the Add Email button should not load.

This article will assist you to log out of your Outlook Integration so you can log back into your Salesforce for Outlook add-in and use the side panel.

As a user without administrative rights in their Salesforce organization:
  1. In your Outlook desktop application or OWA, log out of Outlook Integration in the side panel by simply right-clicking on your Avatar (Profile Pic)  and clicking on Log out.
  2. Next, exit Salesforce for Outlook in the system tray.
  3. Restart the Salesforce for Outlook. If the User has problems with the previous resolution an organization administrator can help with the following:

To check if the user is using Outlook Integration:

In Salesforce Classic 
  1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup and search for Outlook Integration and Sync then navigate Let users access Salesforce Records from Outlook.
  2. Check the User Mapping section.
  3. The drop-down arrow under 'Actions' then clicks Delete.
  4. Restart Salesforce for Outlook and Outlook to display the Side panel again for the user in Outlook.

In Lightning Experience 
  1. In Salesforce, click on the cog icon on the top right corner and select Setup from the drop-down menu
  2. Here search for Outlook Integration and Sync then navigate Let users access Salesforce Records from Outlook.
  3. Check the User Mapping section
  4. Disconnect the User if needed by clicking on Delete.
  5. Restart Salesforce for Outlook and Outlook to display the Side panel again for the user in Outlook.
