When managing large account assignments in Salesforce Enterprise Territory Management (ETM), manually assigning Accounts to Territories one by one is inefficient and time-consuming. This article explains how to bulk-assign Accounts to a specific Territory by combining a custom Number field on the Account object, Data Loader, and Territory Assignment Rules.
The following steps explain how to use a custom Number field on the Account object, Data Loader, and Territory Assignment Rules to mass-add Accounts to a specific Territory in Salesforce Enterprise Territory Management (ETM).
Create a custom field on the Account object with the data type Number. For example, name the field "SFDC TEST."
Use Data Loader to populate the SFDC TEST field with the value 1 for all Accounts that need to be added to the specific Territory.
Navigate to your Territory Model:
Then:
Under the "Assignment Rules Assigned to This Territory" section, click Run Rules. Salesforce automatically adds all matching Accounts to the Territory.
