Error message: 'The user license doesn't allow the permission: Sales Cloud Engage Perm' in Account Engagement

You  may encounter one of the following error messages when attempting to make changes to records in your organization. The errors will be similar to:
The user license doesn't allow the permission: Sales Cloud Engage Perm
The user license doesn't allow the permission: Sales Edge Custom Permission

The errors most commonly occur when:

- Attempting to install a package that includes Profiles or Permission Sets.
- Attempting to modify a Profile or Permission Set
- Attempting to modify a User record.

This error occurs when your organization has Account Engagement installed, and still has the legacy Custom Permissions "Sales Cloud Engage Perm" and "Sales Edge Custom Perm" associated with one or more Profiles or Permission Sets. The permissions may have been associated with the Profiles and/or Permission Sets when you first installed Account Engagement, but their functionality has been replaced by new Permission Sets in the package.
Løsning

To resolve the error message, you will need to disassociate these Custom Permissions from the Profile or Permission Set returning the error.

1. Navigate to Setup | Users | Profiles or Permission Sets
2. Select the Profile or Permission Set
3. If you have the new Profile layout, use the search box to search for Custom Permissions. Otherwise, use your browsers Find function or scroll down the page to find Custom Permissions.
4. Edit the custom permissions to move the conflicting Custom Permission from the Enabled Custom Permissions related list. 

Note: The original error received may only mention one of the Account Engagement Customer Permissions. However, if you see both listed it is best practice to remove both of them or the change will fail with the remaining Custom Permission.

5. Save the Profile or Permission Set.
6. Repeat for any other Profiles or Permission Sets that have these Custom Permissions enabled.
