Associate a Pricebook to an Opportunity in the Salesforce Mobile App

When you try to add a Product to an Opportunity in the Salesforce Mobile App, you may see the following error:
"Before adding products to this opportunity, associate it with a pricebook."
 
This error appears when the Opportunity is not yet linked to a Pricebook record.
For example, a sales rep closing a deal on mobile may encounter this error when attempting to add line items to an Opportunity that has no Pricebook assigned.
 
Note: The Pricebook object itself is not currently available in the Salesforce Mobile App. The Pricebook must be assigned from the Salesforce desktop site or via the Edit quick action in the mobile app once the page layout is configured correctly.

To resolve this error, ensure the Opportunity page layout is configured correctly and then assign the Pricebook from the Salesforce Mobile App.
 
1. Ensure the Opportunity Page Layout includes the standard Pricebook field
  • In Salesforce Classic: Setup > Build > Opportunity > Page Layouts
  • In Lightning Experience: Setup > Object Manager > Opportunity > Page Layouts
2. Ensure the Opportunity Page Layout includes the standard Edit quick action

 

Verify that the Edit quick action is present in the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section of the page layout.

 

3. Assign the Pricebook in the Salesforce Mobile App
  1. Clear the App Cache in the Salesforce Mobile App.
  2. Open any Opportunity and tap Edit.
  3. Select a Pricebook and tap Save.
  4. You can now add Products to the Opportunity.
