When using Salesforce for Outlook (SFO), the side panel continuously refreshes and the user is unable to interact with it. The panel appears to load but immediately reloads, making it impossible to log emails, create records, or view related Salesforce records.
This issue is typically caused by an incompatible command-line switch in the Outlook shortcut or a corrupted Outlook profile.
OUTLOOK.EXE (such as /safe, /noextensions, or /resetnavpane).If removing existing switches does not resolve the issue, try launching Outlook with the /resetfolders switch to reset folder views, which can sometimes clear a corrupt state causing the side panel to loop:
