In Salesforce, the "Send Notification Email" checkbox (also called the Email Notification Checkbox) controls whether an email notification is sent to the user assigned to a Task. This checkbox is only visible on the Task creation or edit page when two conditions are both met:
Users may find the checkbox still unavailable even after an administrator disables the "Enable User Control over Task Assignment Notifications" feature. This is because the page layout's Email Notification Checkbox visibility setting must also be explicitly enabled.
