Unable to See Global or Quick Actions in the Salesforce Record Feed

Julkaisupäivä: Oct 11, 2026
Kuvaus

Users may not see global or object-specific quick actions in the Salesforce record feed, even when those actions are added to the page layout.

This typically occurs when:

  • The action is configured with a record type the user does not have access to.
  • The user lacks the field-level permissions required by the action.

Salesforce displays actions only when the user has the necessary permissions to use them.

Ratkaisu

This article answers why global or object-specific quick actions do not appear in the Salesforce record feed. Quick actions depend on record type access and field permissions. If these requirements are not met, the actions are not visible. Use one of the three options below to resolve the issue.

Option 1: Assign the Record Type to the User

Make sure the user has access to the record type used by the action:

  • Assign the required record type to the user's Profile or Permission Set.

Option 2: Update the Record Type Used by the Action

Modify the action to use a record type that the user can access.

For Object-Specific Quick Actions

  1. Go to Setup.
  2. Go to Object Manager and select the object.
  3. Click Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  4. Edit the relevant action.
  5. Update the Record Type to one assigned to the user.
  6. Click Save.

For Global Quick Actions

  1. Go to Setup.
  2. Search for Global Actions.
  3. Select Global Actions.
  4. Edit the action.
  5. Update the Record Type.
  6. Click Save.

Option 3: Verify Field-Level Access for Object-Specific Actions

Make sure the user has Edit access to the fields the action requires.

For example, if the action creates a Case from an Account, the user must have edit access to the Account Name (lookup field) on Case.
