Unable to See Global or Quick Actions in the Record Feed

Publiceringsdatum: Apr 2, 2026
Beskrivning

Users may not see global or object-specific quick actions in the feed, even when those actions are added to the page layout.

This typically occurs when:

  • The action is configured with a record type the user does not have access to, or
  • The user lacks field-level permissions required by the action

Salesforce only displays actions when the user has the necessary permissions to use them.

Quick actions depend on record type access and field permissions. If these requirements are not met, the actions will not be visible.

Option 1: Assign Record Type to User

Ensure the user has access to the record type used by the action:

  • Assign the required record type to the user’s Profile or Permission Set

Option 2: Update the Record Type Used by the Action

Modify the action to use a record type that the user can access.

For Object-Specific Quick Actions

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Navigate to:
    • Object Manager → Select Object
  3. Click Buttons, Links, and Actions
  4. Edit the relevant action
  5. Update the Record Type to one assigned to the user
  6. Click Save

For Global Quick Actions

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Search for Global Actions
  3. Select Global Actions
  4. Edit the action
  5. Update the Record Type
  6. Click Save

Option 3: Verify Field-Level Access (Object-Specific Actions)

  • Ensure the user has Edit access to required fields
  • Example:
    • If creating a Case from Account, user must have edit access to Account Name (lookup field) on Case
