Activate Button Grayed Out in Lightning Process Builder

When creating a new process in Lightning Process Builder, users may find the Activate button is disabled or grayed out. This occurs when no actions have been added to the process. This article explains why this happens and provides steps to resolve it

Risoluzione

The Activate button in Process Builder becomes available only after at least one action has been added. Follow these steps to add an action and enable the button.

The button is disabled when there are no actions added in your Process, which is expected behavior.

Steps to Enable the Activate Button

Navigate Paths

  1. Salesforce Classic: Setup → Create → Workflow & Approvals → Process Builder
    Lightning Experience: Gear Icon → Setup → Process Automation → Process Builder
  2. Click New to create a new Process.
  3. Fill out the required fields to define your process, then click Save.
  4. Add the required Criteria for the process.
  5. Click Add Action.
  6. Select the type of action you want to create and fill out the required action details.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Once all configurations are completed, click Activate to activate the Process Builder

    Note: If the “Activate” button is grayed out, please ensure that all mandatory fields, criteria, and actions are properly configured before activation.
