'OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED' error when you try to access Salesforce Help

Publiseringsdato: Jul 24, 2023
Beskrivelse
When you attempt to access the Salesforce Help Portal or login with your Trailblazer account, you may see one of the following behaviors:

  • An error message 'OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED'

  • You are briefly directed to the URL 'https://help.salesforce.com/apex/htauthprovidererrorhandler?ErrorCode=Remote_Error&ErrorDescription=OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED'

This occurs if a system administrator has blocked access to the Salesforce Help or Trailblazer.me Connected Apps in your organization.

Follow these steps to unblock the necessary Connected Apps:

  1. Navigate to Setup and type Connected Apps into the Quick Find box.
  2. Click on Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
  3. Locate the entries for the "Salesforce Help" and "Trailblazer" Connected Apps.
  4. If the "Action" button for either app says "Unblock", then this Connected App has been blocked.
  5. To allow end users to access the Help Portal, click to Unblock each app.

If the connected apps do not show as blocked but users are still seeing the error, attempt these steps as a workaround:

In rare cases, the "Salesforce Help" or "Trailblazer" connected apps may not show as blocked, even though a user is receiving the OAUTH_APP_BLOCKED error message.

  1. If the "Salesforce Help" connected app has been installed in your organization, uninstall it to revoke all of its existing tokens.
  2. Locate the "Salesforce Help" connected app as described above.
  3. If the app does not show as blocked, click the "Block" button (you may need to wait up to 15 minutes for the app to show as blocked).
  4. Repeat the unblocking steps as described above.
