Font Displays Differently for Emails Sent from EmailPublisher

Date de publication: Apr 7, 2023
Description
The font displays differently for emails sent from EmailPublisher in Classic and Lightning.

For example, compare an email sent from Classic UI with a Send Email button to an email sent from Lightning Experience using an email action.

When viewing the emails from other email applications (Gmail or Outlook), the email body displays the font size differently.

Résolution

This is an expected behavior:

Essentially, EmailPublisher in Classic uses a font unit as pt. In LEX, it uses a font unit as px:

1 px = 0.75 pt. (Font size of 10 px = 7.5 pt)

When you compare the HTML for both LEX and Classic, here’s a sample output you can see.

Then, load this HTML in any browser and you can see 2 things:
  1. The font appears much smaller in Lightning Experience.
  2. Text copied from Lightning Experience to Microsoft Word, it reduces it by 25% since 1 pt = 0.75 px.
