Salesforce User permissions in Marketing Cloud for Marketing Cloud Connect users

Most common causes of Salesforce Email Send failures are from redundant salesforce permissions which need to be applied to All Integrated Users in the Marketing Cloud.
This can also prevent Users from looking up Salesforce Reports & Campaigns when trying to perform Imports and/or selecting Salesforce Audiences for Email Sends.

Below are some instances where issues occur when Salesforce permissions are not applied to Integrated Users:
  • In Email Studio > Interactions > Salesforce Sends. Jobs will be marked as Failed with no JobID populated.
  • Salesforce Import returns 0 records into the Data Extension
  • Salesforce Reports & Campaigns are not visible in Interactions or Content Builder User Interface
  • If some Integrated Users can access Salesforce Reports & Campaigns Or perform Integrated Emails Sends and others cannot, then their User permissions will need to be reviewed.
Решение
  • Login to Marketing Cloud
  • Hover over your Name in the top right and select Setup 
  • Under Administration > Users > Users
  • Check the box next to the Integrated User > Click on the 'Manage Roles' button at the top of the page
  • Click on 'Edit Permissions' Under permissions
  • Expand 'Email' > then 'Integrations'
  • Check the 'Allow' boxes for permissions 'Salesforce CRM' and 'Salesforce Send'
  • Click Save
