Error "MISSING LABEL__ PropertyFile - val" in the Side Panel

When User is trying to log event using Outlook Integration, the User is getting an error message saying:

"Receiving the following error message when associating an Outlook event MISSING LABEL__ PropertyFile - val An error occurred while trying to update the record. Please try again. not found in section mailapp_association_appointment Confirm to retry."

ROOT CAUSE
Most probably you have set your Lightning Sync configuration to sync all events.
Hence, you won't be able to manually log any events.
Løsning

First, you need to verify if the affected User or anyone who is trying to log the event is assigned to Lightning Sync configuration with event syncing set to All Events. See the the Verify section below on how to do this 

If it is true, then this behavior is working as designed

User won't be able to log Events manually to Salesforce unless the Event sync method is set to Event Users Select only.


 

Verify how Events sync to Salesforce (for Salesforce administrator)

  1. Navigate to Lightning Sync Configurations page. 
In Salesforce Classic, navigate to Setup | Outlook Integration and Sync | Settings
In Lightning Experience, navigate to  Setup | Email | Outlook Integration and Sync
 
  1. Click on Let users sync contacts, events, or both between Microsoft Exchange and Salesforce drop-down under Lightning Sync. 
  2. Navigate to Define Sync Settings in the Set Sync Settings and Check Status section.
  3. Click on Go To Configs button.
  4. Click on the name of the configuration that the User is assigned.
  5. Check to see if you have the All Events value for Events object under the Sync Settings in the Which Exchange Events Sync to Salesforce column

 
Workaround
If the User still wanted to log Events to related records, make sure that the Events Data Set is enabled to Automatically relate Exchange events to Salesforce records so that the Event will sync to the Users Calendar AND automatically add them to related Salesforce records.


Limitation
  • User will not be able to log Events to unrelated records.
  • User will not able to manual log Events to Salesforce records.
  • User will not be able to Edit and Save changes when doing "Edit Logged Event" option on events that already synced via "All Event" syncing.
