Salesforce Quick Filter Does Not Apply When Sending a List Email to Campaign Members

Fecha de publicación: May 4, 2026
Descripción

When you Send a List Email in Lightning Experience, the quick filter applied to your campaign member list does not restrict which members receive the email — the email still sends to all campaign members.
As of the Salesforce Winter '19 release, quick filters allow you to filter campaign members by Type, Status, and other fields. However, Salesforce quick filters behave differently from regular list views. When you use a quick filter and then send a list email, the filter does not carry over to the recipient list — the system sends the email to the entire campaign membership instead of just the filtered subset.

This section explains how to send a list email to only a filtered subset of Salesforce campaign members, rather than to the entire campaign.

Steps to Send a List Email to Filtered Campaign Members in Salesforce

To send a list email to a specific filtered group of campaign members in Salesforce Lightning Experience, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the campaign and apply the quick filter to display only the campaign members you want to email (for example, filter by Status = "Responded" or Type = "Lead").
  2. After filtering, use the controlling checkbox at the top of the campaign member list to select all currently visible (filtered) records. Do not select all records from the unfiltered list.
  3. With the filtered records selected, proceed to send the list email.
  4. Confirm the Recipients field reflects the filtered count. For example:
    1. If the email sends to all members of the "Acme Fall Campaign," the Recipients field reads: Acme Fall Campaign.
    2. If you filter to 10 members and select them using the checkbox, the Recipients field reads: (10 Recipients) Acme Fall Campaign.

This confirms the email sends only to the selected filtered members, not the full campaign.
