When using wildcards in the File Naming Pattern of a File Transfer activity, the resolved date in the file name is determined by the configured time zone. Because Marketing Cloud operates on CST (UTC-6), the date reflected in the file name may differ from the local date in your time zone.
In the "File Naming Pattern," you can use wildcards such as %%Year%%, %%Month%%, and %%Day%%, but you need to consider the time zone as follows:
For example, if you specify the file naming pattern: %%Year%%%%Month%%%%Day%%.csv, executing it at 14:00 JST on 10/23 corresponds to 23:00 CST on 10/22. Therefore, the file named 20191022.csv, instead of 20191023.csv, will be processed as the target for import.
Furthermore, if a file containing the specified date in its name is not found, the system will continue by searching for the most recently dated file and target that file instead.
For instance, if the intended target file was 20191023.csv but that file did not exist, and the previous day's file 20191022.csv was present, it will execute the process targeting this file.
If the "Use Local Time Zone Setting" checkbox is turned on, it will execute according to the time zones configured below.
