In Salesforce Lightning Experience, the Close Case button and its associated Close Case Page Layout are not available by default. The Close Case Page Layout is a special layout in Salesforce Classic that appears when an agent clicks the Close Case button, allowing them to set the Case Status, Case Reason, and Solution fields in a single step. Customers upgrading from Classic to Lightning Experience may notice that this button is missing and need an alternative approach to close cases efficiently.
The Close Case Layout will only display when using the 'Close Case' button.
Note: The 'Close Case' button is only available in Salesforce Classic.
As an alternative to the Close Case button in Lightning Experience, administrators can: 1. Create a Quick Action on the Case object to update the Status field to 'Closed'. 2. Add this Quick Action to the Case Lightning Page Layout so agents can close cases with a single click. 3. Optionally use a Flow or Macro to pre-populate Case Reason and Solution fields when closing.
Note: A Salesforce Idea requesting a native Close Case button in Lightning Experience has been submitted. Check the Salesforce Help & Training site for the latest release notes on this feature.
