Salesforce Error: 'You don't have user access to view this component' For Activity Component in Lightning Record Page

Description

Users may report seeing an error for the Activity component on Lightning record pages:

 

You don't have user access to view this component 

Résolution

If the Activity Timeline is not selected in the Record Page Settings, the error may occur.  Check if users have adjusted the Personalize Your Record Activities View Settings or if Admins have Set the Default Activities View to 'Related list'. 

To resolve the error for all users, toggle the setting from 'Related list' to 'Activity Timeline' as follows:

1. Setup > In Quick find, search for "Record Page Settings"
2. Select Activity Timeline and Save
3. Confirm if the user can now see Activity related list.


Note: If your record page doesn't show the view you select, refresh the page. If the problem continues, contact your admin to ensure they have customized the page to show your selected view.
