Unable to create Folders or Layers inside the Maps Corporate Folder

Publiseringsdato: Dec 9, 2022
Beskrivelse
After installing and configuring Salesforce Maps, users might see options to create a marker layer or a folder grayed out. As a result, the user can’t create any new marker layers or folders inside the corporate folder. This is because the logged in user does not have required permissions in the SF Maps application to create marker layers or folders within the corporate folder.

Steps to enable Folder Permissions

1. Open the Salesforce Setup menu, and type Installed Packages in the Quick Find search bar.

2. Select Installed Packages, find Salesforce Maps, and click Configure.

3. Select the Permissions Group tab on the left pane and click on New button to create a new Permission Group. Give a meaningful name to this Permission Group.

4. Click Edit button to edit the new Permission group

5. Check "Folder Administrator" under Layers section.

6. Next, go to the Assignment tab and assign the profile or user to this Permission Group and click Save.

Note - If you already have a custom Permission Group created for the profile, you can edit that Permission Group instead and check “Folder Administrator“ and save.

A Folder Administrator can set Folder Permissions for a user or profile against any corporate sub-folder located in the sidebar of Salesforce Maps.
