Salesforce Billing depends on an asynchronous process when calculating taxes, invoicing orders, and making payments. Standard Tax Calculation uses a Queueable service. Invoice Schedulers and Payment Schedulers both use Batch Apex processes.
If any of the Salesforce Billing processes appear to take a long time to complete, navigate to the Apex Job page and confirm the Job Status:
