Salesforce Billing (Managed Package): processes are slow and take a long time to complete

Fecha de publicación: Sep 1, 2026
Descripción

Salesforce Billing depends on an asynchronous process when calculating taxes, invoicing orders, and making payments. Standard Tax Calculation uses a Queueable service. Invoice Schedulers and Payment Schedulers both use Batch Apex processes.

Solución

If any of the Salesforce Billing processes appear to take a long time to complete, navigate to the Apex Job page and confirm the Job Status:

  • For Queueable jobs, check if it says Process or Queued. If this is in Queued status, it means that it is waiting for the job to process as soon as a resource becomes available.
  • For Batch jobs, check if it is in Holding status. Holding status means that the job has been moved to the Flex Queue where it is also waiting for it to be picked up as soon as a resource becomes available. Batch jobs are limited to five queued or active jobs simultaneously. Jobs submitted beyond this limit are placed in the Flex Queue.

Both cases are standard Salesforce functionality and Salesforce Billing has no control over this. View the articles below for related information about Asynchronous processes.
