This article explains how to check your organization's monthly API request limit. Your Salesforce org has monthly API request limits based on your edition and licenses. You may need to check this limit to monitor usage, troubleshoot integration issues, or plan for capacity needs. API request limits are calculated based on your organization's edition and the number of active user licenses, with each license providing a specific allocation of monthly API calls.

Limit Details

Default Limit:

Varies by edition and license count. Common allocations include:

  • Professional Edition: 1,000 API requests per user license per 24-hour period
  • Enterprise Edition: 1,000 API requests per user license per 24-hour period
  • Unlimited Edition: 1,000 API requests per user license per 24-hour period
  • Developer Edition: 15,000 API requests per org per 24-hour period

(Note: Monthly limits are calculated as 30 times the daily allocation per license.)

Varies based on edition, license count, and purchased API request add-ons

How to Check:

View your current API limit and usage on the Company Information page in Setup

Prerequisites:

You must have System Administrator permissions or the "View Setup and Configuration" permission to access Company Information.

Resolution

Your monthly API request limit can be found on the Company Information page in Setup. This page displays both your total allocation and current usage.

Checking Your API Limit

In Lightning Experience:

  1. Click on the gear icon
  2. Click on Setup
  3. Go to Company Settings
  4. Click on Company Information
  5. The details can be seen under 'Usage-Based Entitlements'

In Salesforce Classic:

  1. Click on Setup
  2. Go to Company Profile
  3. Click on Company Information
  4. The details can be seen under 'Usage-Based Entitlements'
