説明

To set up Salesforce Maps Territory Planning, there are a few important steps to complete first. Once these are done, your end users will be ready to access and use the Territory Planning seamlessly. Please reference the Implementation Guide for the full guide.

Here are the steps that an Admin should complete before an end user access Territory Planning

Granting Access to Territory Planning

In order to access the Territory Planning page, users need to be assigned the Salesforce Maps Territory Planning Permission Set License (PSL) and SF Maps Territory Planning Permission Set.

It is also recommended to assign the Maps Admin Permission Set to any Admin users, as it provides that user with access to all Salesforce Maps objects.

Setting up the OAuth User

An OAuth user is required to establish a secure connection with Maps Input Output system (MAIO), which handles data creation and optimization requests. All data processing that connects to MAIO is run through the context of the OAuth user. It is a prerequisite to assign the Maps Admin Permission Set to the OAuth user.

In cases where both Territory Planning and Maps Advanced products have been purchased, it is necessary for the OAuth user to be above the Maps Advanced end-users in the Salesforce Role Hierarchy.

Note: If you want to use an integration user as the OAuth user, you will have to license the user with Salesforce Maps Territory Planning PSL and give the Maps Admin Permission Set, then login as the integration user using named credentials, OAuth, then if needed, remove the PSL.

Setup OAuth

  1. From Setup, search for Installed Packages.
  2. Next to Salesforce Maps, click the Configure button.
  3. Select OAuth tab from the left menu.
  4. Click Authorize.

Note: You must be signed into Salesforce as the OAuth user via SF Credentials. Login in As does not work.

Setting up Feed Tracking

If you installed the Salesforce Maps Managed Package prior to the Summer ’20 release, or do not have Chatter enabled when installing, you will need to enable Feed Tracking in order to use the Commenting and Alignment Approvals features.

Setting up Approval

Territory Planning has a single-level approval flow that is independent of other approval functionality in Salesforce. This feature is optional, and can be configured:

  1. From Setup, search for Installed Packages.
  2. Next to Salesforce Maps, click the Configure button.
  3. Select the Alignment Approval section from the left menu.
  4. To turn on approval processes for alignments, toggle on Alignment Approval.
  5. Specify any users that you want to be Approvers.

Setting up Publish Options

Territory Planning has a variety of publish options that can be configured. Each publish option can be enabled or disabled, which affects all users with a Territory Planning license. If you have Approval enabled, you can also require that an alignment must be approved before publishing. Also, with Approval enabled, you can specify that publish options should only be available to Approvers.

  1. From Setup, search for Installed Packages.
  2. Next to Salesforce Maps, click the Configure button.
  3. Select Publish Options tab from the left menu.
  4. Specify the desired settings for each option
    1. Note: It is recommended to only set access to Publish to Salesforce Fields for Approvers Only, since that feature can immediately update Salesforce Object data.
