Discover Reporting has been retired, and the information below outlines actions needed to prepare for the transition to the replacement product, Datorama Reports for Marketing Cloud, a more robust reporting capability.
When was the Marketing Cloud Discover Reporting scheduled for retirement?
Discover Reporting was retired on April 1, 2022. After this date, Discover will no longer be supported in Marketing Cloud. Service shut-down operations will take place through April 25, 2022.
Was there a cost to upgrade to the Datorama Reporting functionality?
The Datorama Reports for Marketing Cloud feature includes the Marketing Cloud Pro, Corporate, Enterprise, and Enterprise Plus editions. A premium upgrade, Datorama Reports Advanced, is also available as an add-on.
When were Datorama Reports available in Marketing Cloud accounts?
Beginning February 2021, the activation of Datorama Reports in your account will occur during your contract renewal period. You can get access earlier by contacting your Salesforce account executive or representative.
Customers who have purchased Salesforce Marketing Cloud after September 1, 2021, will have Datorama Reports for Marketing Cloud included automatically.
Could I request an opt-in to Datorama Reports before my contract renewal?
Yes. Contact your account representative to request opt-in to the Datorama Reports feature in your account.
Why did Marketing Cloud retire Discover Reporting?
Salesforce’s acquisition of Datorama in 2018 provided Marketing Cloud with an analytics platform that is scalable from a performance, feature set, and architectural point of view. By leveraging many key components of Datorama and integrating them into the Messaging & Journeys platform, we cannot only functionally replace Discover by enhancing its existing toolkit by providing advanced dashboards and analytics.
Can existing Discover report data be migrated to Datorama Reports?
When Datorama Reports is activated in your account, existing engagement data (opens, clicks, etc.) from the prior 90 days will be available. As Datorama continues to be accessed in your account, data will accumulate for up to two years.
For more information on how to migrate Discover reports to Datorama Reports, see here.
How can I access more than 90 days of historical data in Datorama Reports?
At the time of provisioning, 90 days of historical data is included in Datorama Reports. This data will then grow, building to 2 years of data retention over time. To ensure you have as much historical data as possible in Datorama Reports by Discover’s end-of-life date (April 1, 2022), contact your account team to have Datorama Reports provisioned as soon as possible. The following table articulates the relationship between Datorama Reports provisioning month and total historical data accumulated by April 2022:
| Datorama Reports provisioning date | Historical data starts (90 days prior) | Total historical data by April 2022 |
| July 2021 | April 2021 | 1 year |
| December 2021 | September 2021 | 7 months |
| February 2022 | November 2021 | 5 months |
| March 2022 | December 2021 | 4 months |
If you need to reference reports with older data, use this migration period to export and archive important Discover reports.
Can I use both Discover and Datorama reporting capabilities until the retirement date?
Customers can use Discover and Datorama reports until their retirement begins on April 1, 2022. Engagement data will remain available in Discover and Datorama until the Discover retirement date. However, we recommend that you refer to our enablement resources to begin using Datorama as the only reporting functionality within your account.
Where can you find additional information?
