URL redirects from one Experience site to other

Udgivelsesdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse
There would be situations where the customer wants their users to be redirected from one experience site to other. Let's say if customer has two experience sites and they want to redirect users from site#1 to site#2.

site#1: https://testportal.force.com/s
site#2: https://testportal.force.com/connect/s

Customer has created URL redirects on the salesforce site(FMK force.com site) using the "URL Redirects" button like this.

/s >> https://testportal.force.com/connect (Permanent (301))
/s/login >> https://testportal.force.com/connect (Permanent (301))

But that doesn't redirect users. Why?
Løsning
This needs to be set up within the Site.com Studio, which has redirections set up. Follow the below steps.

1. In the experience builder in the top left-hand corner click on the box for the drop down then go to "Administration"
2. Click on the "Pages" tab on the left
3. Click on "Go to Site.com Studio"
4. Expand the "Site Configuration" and select "URL Redirects"
5. Set up the redirect rules here
6. Click "Publish Changes" in the top right corner

NOTE: The paths in Site.com are always relative to the site's custom URL, so the /s prefix should be removed from both paths since the /s is implied.

The redirect URLs for the above use case look like this.
/ >> https://testportal.force.com/connect/s (Permanent (301))
/login >> https://testportal.force.com/connect/s (Permanent (301))
