In CRM Analytics, Custom Map Charts allow you to visualize data using custom geographic boundaries defined by GeoJSON files. This is useful for representing regional data such as sales territories or custom districts.
Some environments with CRM Analytics enabled may not have the capability to create Custom Map Charts even when the proper permission set license and permissions are assigned. This issue can manifest as:

  • The Manage Analytics Custom Maps permission not being visible or available in permission sets.
  • Inability to upload a GeoJSON file to create a custom map.
Solución

This article describes how to troubleshoot and resolve issues with creating Custom Map Charts in CRM Analytics when the required permissions appear to be assigned but the feature is still inaccessible.
Before contacting Salesforce Support, verify the following:

  1. Confirm the user has a CRM Analytics Plus or equivalent permission set license assigned. Navigate to Setup > Users > select the user > Permission Set License Assignments.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Permission Sets and open the permission set assigned to the user.
  3. Under System Permissions, confirm that Manage Analytics Custom Maps is listed and enabled. If this permission is not visible in the permission set, this is a known platform limitation.
  4. If the permission is present but the feature still does not work, contact Salesforce Support and reference this article.
  5. When contacting Support, provide your Org ID (found via Setup > Company Profile > Company Information) and grant login access to allow Support to investigate.
