Marketing Cloud Connect: Error "Not authorized to use this authentication base URI. Use your authentication base URI found in Marketing Cloud Installed Packages. Do not use exacttargetapis.com."

When using Marketing Cloud Connect and you navigate to the Marketing Cloud tab in the Salesforce CRM and Click on the blue button "Connect to Marketing Cloud", you get the following error "Not authorized to use this authentication base URI. Use your authentication base URI found in Marketing Cloud Installed Packages. Do not use exacttargetapis.com."
Solución
This basically happens when the Business Unit ID of the Marketing Cloud is not present in the Salesforce CRM.

Assuming all prior Marketing Cloud Connect best practices have been followed. Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue:

Add the 'Business Unit' Tab

  • Click Setup. 
  • Follow these steps based on your UI
    • Classic - Under the 'Create' category, select Tabs
    • Lightning - Under the 'User Interface' category, select Tabs
  • Click New. 
  • Choose "Business Units" from the Object drop-down menu.  (NOTE: if business units do not appear in this drop-down, this custom tab may have already been created. Skip to the 'Rename your Business Unit' section.)
  • Pick any Tab style. 
  • Click Next | Next | Save. 

Create your Business Unit within Classic

  • Click the Plus symbol on the tab bar. 
  • Click on the Business Units link. 
  • Choose All under the "View" drop-down, and then click Go. 
  • Click on New Business Unit.
  • Add the Business Unit Name, Business Unit ID (as mentioned in the Marketing Cloud)
  • Click on the Enabled checkbox.
  • Click on Save.
Once the BU has been created, ensure to Clear Configuration and try to connect again.
