Learn how to select Tooltips in the Salesforce Maps marker layer builder and where to see the marker tooltip value in Salesforce Maps.

Tooltips in Salesforce Maps allow users to surface key Salesforce field values — such as Account Name, Annual Revenue, or Last Activity Date — directly on the map alongside each marker, eliminating the need to click into each record to see important data during field planning.

Tooltips mirror fields in your salesforce org and allow you to display critical field values alongside markers in Salesforce Maps Marker Layers.

Steps

1. Open the Salesforce Maps marker layer editor by creating a new or editing an existing marker layer. Then, click Next until you get to the ‘Marker Pop-ups’ tab.

2. The Details tab will be opened by default. Salesforce Maps allows you to select a Title Field and up to 14 tooltips from the list of fields on the current Salesforce Maps base object.

3. Use the Search bars provided to select your tooltips. Click ‘Save & Refresh’ to save your changes and plot this marker layer on the map.

4. Click any marker on the Map and select the Info tab to view the Tooltips you selected.

5. After Summer 24 release, Tooltips pop-up cards will appears modernized as per enhanced user experience.

Note: Email hyperlinks are not supported via tooltips. To initiate an email from Salesforce Maps, select a record and use the ‘Send Email ’ action from the Marker Actions tab.
