Export or save an email in your Gmail to a .EML file

Export email messages as a (.eml) file in Gmail

1. Log into your Gmail account.
2. Open the email message you wish to download.
3. Click on the vertical Ellipsis or the 3 dot button in the top right corner of the message next to the reply icon
4. Click on Download Message ( a file with .eml extension will get downloaded) or Show Original ( on the show original page, click on Copy to clipboard, open up notepad and paste it there and save it ) then click Save As... from the drop-down menu. Make sure you manually choose All Files and save with *.eml file extension.
