Lead Capture Lead Ads testing using Preview Form

Description

Use this tool to test your API or CRM integration. You can create a test lead to confirm that your integration is set up to receive data correctly. When creating a test lead with multiple fields such as address, phone numbers etc, a different process needs to be followed which I will provide in the resolution section. This is to ensure the correct format of data is captured so that they can be ingested successfully into the data extension. 
Résolution
  1. Go to the testing tool.
    • The drop-down lists all the pages you have advertiser access to.
  2. Select a page from the drop-down.
  3. In the Form drop-down, select a form to use for creating a lead.
  4. On the test tool, instead of clicking "Create lead", you need to click "Preview Form"
  5. You will see a popup where you can fill in valid values. Enter the desired data on the form level to create a lead with custom content.
  6. Click next until the confirmation screen and it will send through a test lead.
  7. Once the lead is created, the Track Status button appears.
  8. Click Track Status, to see the status of the leads. It takes a few seconds for the RTU to be fired to your endpoint. Until then, you see the RTU in pending status. Click Track Status again until you will see the status change.
  9. If the lead returns with Success check the data extension in Marketing Cloud if the lead was ingested.  If you are working with Sales Cloud Lead Capture, you can check the Lead Object if the lead was ingested.
  10. If there was an issue during sending the RTU, then the status changes to failed. In such cases, the error_code column gives details about the reason for the failure.
