Due Diligence Overview

As part of your journey to becoming an official Salesforce Partner, it is essential to submit the Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) and Compliance Certification. This process ensures that Salesforce partners operate with integrity and comply with laws, including those addressing ant-corruption and anti-bribery.

Process Timeline

The due diligence process may take several weeks, depending on:

  • Completeness of your submission.

  • Complexity of the review.

  • Identified compliance concerns.

  • Timeliness of your responses to follow-up inquiries.

Required Documents

The following documents are necessary for the due diligence process. 

  1. Review the Due Diligence Questionnaire

  2. Review the Compliance Certification

Note: Complete these documents only within the Salesforce Partner Community unless directed otherwise.


Due Diligence Instructions

For new Partner applicants, the due diligence process should be completed within the Partner Community. Please make sure to request to join the Partner Community if you haven’t already. If you have already done so, then proceed to log in to the Partner Community to begin the process.

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Request access to the Partner Community if you haven’t joined yet.

  2. Once access is granted, log in to the Partner Community to begin the process.

Refer to the Community User Manual for further details.


ISV Partner Applicants:

ISV Partner applicants are not required to complete the Due Diligence Questionnaire or Compliance Certification. Instead, ISV applicants must submit their business plan within the Partner Community. Follow the steps below to complete this process. For more information check out Add a Business Plan to an AppExchange Listing.

 

  1. Navigate to the Publishing tab in Partner Community

  2. On the Listings tab, click a listing tile.

  3. On the Business Plan tab, provide details about your company and product architecture.

  4. If your listing is paid, provide compliance information.

    1. Note: If you’re an existing partner with another published paid listing, we already have your compliance information, so this section is marked as complete.

Consulting and Managed Service Provider Applicants:

  1. Log into the Partner Community.

  2. Complete and submit the Due Diligence Questionnaire in full.

Reseller Applicants:

  1. Log into the Partner Community.

  2. Submit the Due Diligence Questionnaire.

  3. Complete the Cloud Reseller Business Plan, which will be sent to you by email. 

  • The enrollment team will email the Business Plan document to you.

  • Ensure you complete it thoroughly and return it as instructed.


Important Notes

  • If you’re an existing partner with another published paid listing, we already have your compliance information, so this section is marked as complete.

  • Answer all questions in the DDQ thoroughly.

  • Provide all supplemental documents as requested.

  • Check your application status in the Partner Community after submission.

  • Additional information may be requested during the review.

Q: How do I check the status of my due diligence application?
A: To check the status of your due diligence application, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Partner Community: Ensure you have access to the Partner Community. If you haven’t joined yet, request access and log in once granted. 

2. Navigate to the Due Diligence Section: Within the Partner Community, locate the section dedicated to due diligence. This is where you can track the progress of your application.

3. Use Action Plans: If applicable, use Action Plans to track due diligence requirements. These plans may include tasks, document checklist items, or verification checks related to your application.

4. Check Verification Items: If your application involves document submissions, you can check the status of these items under Verification Checks. This will show whether your documents have been accepted or are still pending.

 

Q: How often do I need to revisit the due diligence process?
A: Due diligence approval is valid for three years or until material business changes occur.. Salesforce will notify you when it’s time to renew.

Q: Do I need to provide external business references?
A: Yes. Submit three independent business references unaffiliated with Salesforce or your entity, including their company email and affiliation.

Q: What should I include for anti-corruption training responses?
A: Provide a description of the training content, frequency, and categories of employees trained.

Q: Why are embargoed countries and denied parties relevant?
A: All partners must comply with these laws. Products and services cannot be sold or used in embargoed countries or by denied parties.
