Salesforce Maps Advanced Settings on the Configuration Page

Navigating to the Advanced Tab Settings

1. Enter "installed packages" in the Quick Find search box. Select Installed Packages.
2. Select Configure for the Salesforce Maps package.
3. Select Advanced.

SYSTEM General Settings

• Open links in a new tab when using Salesforce Lightning: Links clicked on in Salesforce Maps, such as tooltips, will open up in a new browser tab.
• Show Labor Laws Notification
• Remove Aggregates Tab from Shape and Cluster Tooltips
• Save routing geometry on Maps routes object
• Show only subordinates by default
• Use enhanced domains for nearby maps in Salesforce Sites
• How should we handle certain events like ("Log a call", "New Task", and "New Event")?: Handling these events as Salesforce Maps Popups will prompt a dialogue box to appear in the active window you are working in. The other alternative, SalesForce Classic, will cause another browser tab to open in SalesForce Classic. 
  • Note: When using View in Salesforce button, New Task window opens in a new tab without any related account information. This is a limitation, where related information cannot be passed to the New Task tab in Lightning.
• Which Task fieldset should we use for "Log a call"?: This setting allows users to use a predefined task field set when performing a log a call function on a plotted marker. This allows for more customization in your org.

MARKERS Settings

• Marker Cluster Threshold: This setting controls the clustering of plotted markers in Salesforce Maps. This sets the minimum of markers needed for a cluster.
• Cluster Zoom Level (Mobile): Markers will be rendered instead of clusters at the selected display level
• Hide Chatter Tab
• Disable Click2Create Markers: When a user performs a Click2Create function, an orange marker will not appear on the map for the newly created SalesForce record. This is useful in helping users avoid experiencing manually entered waypoints.

MAP TILES

• Add Custom Tile 
• Edit Existing Tile Layers

BATCH Process Settings

• Mass Field Update Scope Size
• Marker Layer Batch Size
• Marker Layer Batch Size for External Objects 
• Auto-Assignment Batch Size

POI(GLOBAL) SEARCH Settings

• Include Points of Interest: When performing a POI search this allows results from a Google Places search to return.
• Include Markers on the Map: When performing a POI search this allows results from plotted markers on the map to return.
• Include Records in Salesforce: When performing a POI search this allows results from all records in Salesforce to return.
• Disable Places Search: By disabling the places search, disallows users from using the POI search box from the toolbar and the “Add a Stop” button from routes to search for places. Note, this does not disable users from using the POI search box to find records in Salesforce or records in marker layers.
