Add the Map It Button to a List View in Salesforce

Learn how to add the Map It button to list views to plot objects, such as accounts, on the map in Salesforce Maps.

Note: This feature is only supported on Desktop.
  1. Enter "Installed Packages" in the Quick Find Search Box. Select Installed Packages.
  2. Select Configure for the Salesforce Maps package. 
  3. Select Base Object and Edit Existing
  4. Then select the object to which you want to add the Map It button, for example, Account. 
  5. Scroll to Map It Settings. Click Select and copy Map It List View Visualforce Code.
  6. Enter "Visualforce Pages" in the Quick Find Search Box. Click Visualforce Pages and then click New.
  7. Enter a Label and Name. Remove the existing Visualforce code and paste in the Map It List View Visualforce code copied from the Maps base object configuration. Click Save.
  8. From the Object Manager tab, select the object to which you want to add the Map It button.
  9. Select Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  10. Click New Button or Link.
    • Enter a Label and Name.
    • Select List Button as the Display Type.
    • Select Display Checkboxes.
    • Select Visualforce Page as the Content Source.
    • Select the Visualforce page you created earlier.
    • Click Save.
  11. From the Object Manager tab, select the object to which you want to add the Map It button, for example, Account.
  12. Select List View Button Layout and click Edit on the layout where you want to add the Map It button.
  13. Move your Map It button from Available Buttons to Selected Buttons. Click Save.
  14. In Salesforce, search for accounts, for example. From the list view, select the accounts you want to plot in Salesforce Maps. Click Map the List View.
