Create Salesforce Maps Usage Reports

Salesforce Maps Usage Reports allow administrators to track how field reps are using Maps features such as Routes, Marker Layers, and Analytics. Use this article to enable reporting on Salesforce Maps objects and create a report to monitor user activity.

By default, Salesforce Maps objects are not reportable. You must first enable reporting for each object before building a usage report in Salesforce.

Creating Salesforce Maps Usage Reports

  1. You first need to enable the Salesforce Maps objects to allow reports. Navigate to Setup | Object Manager.
  2. Select the Object Maps Route (for example).
  3. Select Edit 
  4. Check Allow Reports.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Select the Reports tab to create usage reports. 
  7. Select New Report.
  8. Search for Salesforce Reports, or select the Other Reports folder.
  9. Select Maps Routes (or whichever object you want to report on).
  10. Select Continue.
    • By default, the report already includes the Route Name.
  11. Add additional columns by dragging fields onto the report. Here are recommended fields to add to a Routes Usage Report
    • Created By
    • Created Date
    • Last Modified By
    • Last Modified Date
  12. Add report filters and date range, as needed.
  13. When you’re ready, Save the report.
  14. Give it a meaningful name, like All Salesforce Maps Routes.
  15. Select Save and Run.
  16. Repeat this report creation process for other Salesforce Maps objects.

Note: Administrators can enable reporting on these objects as well:
  • Maps Marker Layer
  • Maps Analytic
  • Maps Waypoint
