Organizations using Salesforce Maps Live must create new Maps Live IoT Device records for each IoT Device whose live and historical location users want to visualize in Salesforce Maps Live. The instructions below describe how to create these records in the Salesforce Lightning Experience. Users must have a Salesforce Maps Live License to view and manage Maps Live IoT Device records.
1. Open the App Launcher and select the Maps Live IoT Devices tab. If you do not see the Maps Live IoT Devices tab, you may need to create a Salesforce Custom Object Tab for the Maps Live IoT Device object.
2. Click New to create a new Maps Live IoT Device record.
3. Populate the Maps Live IoT Device fields below with information from each of your IoT Devices:
4. Click Save to save the Maps Live IoT Device record.
5. Repeat this process for each additional Maps Live IoT Device record. For large lists of IoT Devices, Salesforce System Administrators may also perform a bulk upload using the Salesforce Data Import Wizard.
