Create Live Daily Summary Configuration in Salesforce Maps

게시 일자: Aug 22, 2023
상세 설명

Daily Summary Configurations allow Salesforce Maps users to choose a group of Assets, define business-critical events like Stops and Speeding incidents, and automatically generate a list of events for each Asset every day. Users can also configure Stop Associations to tie Stop events to relevant Salesforce records and maintain better visibility into their field operations.

Create a Daily Summary Configuration

  1. Open the Salesforce Setup menu, and type Installed Packages in the Quick Find search bar.
  2. Select Installed Packages, find Salesforce Maps Package, and click Configure.
  3. Select Daily Summaries under Maps Live Tracking from the navigation menu, and click Add New to begin creating a new Daily Summary Configuration.
  4. Name the Daily Summary Configuration and click Next. 'Summary Description' is optional.
  5. Search for a saved Live Layer. The selected Live Layer specifies what Assets and IoT Devices will be included in this Daily Summary Configuration.
    • "Note: Maps does not support the use of Filter by Owner and Scope in Live layers". Doing so will cause an error on the daily summary batch job.
  6. Click Next to begin configuring Events to include in this Daily Summary Configuration.
  7. Configure Stop Events if you want to include Stops in this Daily Summary Configuration:
    • Toggle Stops to Active
    • Specify the Distance and Time requirements for a Stop. We recommend using a radius no smaller than 500 feet.
      • For example, if an Asset moves fewer than 500 feet in 10 minutes, add a Stop Event.
    • Check the Create a Record box if you want to have a record created each time your stop definition is met.
    • If you would like to associate the closest Salesforce record(s) to Stops, complete the remaining steps, then follow the instruction outlined here: Configuring Stop Associations for Daily Summary Configurations.
  8. Configure how geolocation data is captured via Maps Live Daily Drive Trip records
    • Select Track Mileage Using On-Board Sensors to record all miles an asset has traveled.
    • Select Track Mileage Using Mobile Devices to record miles only when a driver has toggled on their Live Location via the Maps mobile app.
  9. Configure Speeding Events if you want to include Speeding in this Daily Summary Configuration:
    • Toggle Speeding to Active
    • Specify the Speed and Duration threshold criteria that constitute a Speeding Event For example, if an Asset travels more than 10 mph above the posted speed limit for more than 1 minute, add a Speeding Event.
      • Alternatively, to create a Speeding Event regardless of how long the driver was speeding, select 'for any duration' instead of 'for more than'.
    • Optionally, Check the Create a Record box if you want to have a new Salesforce Maps Live Event record created each time your speeding definition is met.
  10. Configure Speed Threshold Events if you want to include Speed Threshold violations in this Daily Summary Configuration:
    • Toggle Speed Threshold to Active
    • Specify the Speed input the speed and duration threshold that will trigger a threshold event. For example, if an Asset travels more than 90 mph for more than 1 minute, a Speed Threshold Event will be added.
    • Optionally, Check the Create a Record box if you want to have a new Salesforce Maps Live Event record created each time your speed threshold is met.
  11. Check the boxes next to the following Telematics Event types to create new Salesforce Maps Live Event records for each event:
    • Hard Braking
    • Hard Acceleration
    • Device Battery On
      • The Maps Live IoT Device will send a 'Device Battery On' message when the power supply switches to its internal battery. This is an indication that the device is no longer receiving power from the vehicle and maybe uninstalled.
    • Mileage by State
