Marker After Click2Create Plots at a Different or Nearby Location

It is possible when creating records using Click2Create, markers/records won't plot on the exact location where the user has dropped a pin or where POI marker was showing. This is an expected behavior when data integration rules are active in the org and standard coordinate fields are used in Base object configuration. The location of the marker can be altered after creation as those geocodes would be overwritten by data.com. 

Solución

This article explains how to fix markers that plot at a different or nearby location instead of the exact spot where a pin or POI was dropped using Click2Create.

Resolution Steps

To help resolve this issue, use the custom coordinate fields in the Click2Create and Base object configuration by creating a new custom Geolocation field on the object used for Click2Create.

  • From Setup - Object manager - Click on the object used for Click2Create (example Lead)
  • Create a new Geolocation field on Lead object, and name it "Verified" (you can also name it Maps_verified or any similar name)
  • Open SF Maps Configuration page and click on Base object
  • Click on Edit existing and select the Lead BO configuration
  • For the Coordinate field mapping - map Verified Latitude to Verified (Latitude) and Verified Longitude to Verified (Longitude) fields
  • Click Save
  • Next Click on Click2Create tab on the left
  • Select the Lead object
  • Under Map Click and POI configuration, map the Latitude/Longitude values to Verified(Latitude)/Verified(Longitude)
  • Click Save
  • Open Maps tab and verify the C2C process again. Lead marker should be plotted at the same location as drop pin or POI location
